Structures providing policy-relevant advice on infrastructures

There is not a formal advisory mechanism in Greece in the specific field of RTD infrastructures. The General Secretariat for Research and Technology (under the Ministry of Development of Greece) is the main governmental authority for the formulation and implementation of RTD policy in the country. A National Council for Research and Technology assists the Ministry and the GSRT in matters of research policy and administration of the research centres.

In the framework of the measure: "RTD Consortia in sectors of national priority" , a specific call is launched to support RTD infrastructures in public research centers under the auspices of GSRT in fields of national priority:

• Natural environment and sustainable development
• Build environment and seismic risk management
• Food and rural development, aquaculture
• Transportation, navigation

The policy development with respect to ESFRI projects, including Life Watch is not yet established.
