The Life Watch project received is currently in its preparatory phase. For institutions that wish to take part in the construction and operational phases, or already during the preparations, there are several ways to become involved.
Firstly, the Preparatory Phase (2008-2011) project is open to new participants who are expected to contribute substantially to the preparations. This holds, for instance, for organisations designated to represent governments not yet represented in the Policy & Science Board.
Secondly, as part of the preparations, national Life Watch networks are being set up by interested parties. Updates on the national networks will be presented on the national pages of this website.
Thirdly, the preparatory project has three advisory committees which also include project-external partners: the Data Providers Platform, the User Platform and the Information Science Technology Group working on the technical aspects.

I have looked at the Construction Database and want to join LifeWatch

A Construction Issue is the smallest unit of contribution activity. Contributions from countries or participating organisations are expected to be related to one or more Construction Issues, Construction Components, or even an entire Construction Project. Some of the construction issues may be provided more than once, e.g. a national service desk or a regional computing facility.

Guidelines
The Guidelines for National LifeWatch Networks provide information about the distributed construction process. Countries and organisations interested in contributing to the construction of the LifeWatch ERI are requested to refer to the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. LifeWatch Case
Label your project as a LifeWatch Developer Project.
Researchers frequently ask how they can be involved in the development process of the LifeWatch research infrastructure. Indeed, the European scientific and technical community has much to offer. Although LifeWatch cannot provide direct funding, many countries are involved in its preparatory phase. It may therefore be of some advantage to your project if it is seen to be supporting the development of LifeWatch. It is now possible to request a label as LifeWatch Supporting project for projects which clearly contribute to the LifeWatch infrastructure development. The affiliated project has the right to use the LifeWatch logo in all project communications and is valid for the agreed project duration. LifeWatch lists the affiliation on this website.
