The StEPPFoS project aims to support food security and sustainable agriculture in Africa by improving science-policy interfaces and dialogue through the creation and strengthening of existing dialogue tools such as the Pan-African Network for Economic Analysis of Policies (PANAP). Over four years, the project will support capacity building, stakeholder engagement and participatory monitoring to achieve these objectives. The project involves various partners from Europe and Africa, including academic, research and policy institutions.
LifeWatch ERIC plays a crucial role in the StEPPFoS project by developing a virtual networking platform and facilitating knowledge exchange and dialogue between policymakers and researchers in sustainable agriculture and agroecology. The platform will provide tailor-made services to end-users and project participants. Examples of these functionalities include a marketplace to share collaboration opportunities and information, a matchmaking function to find stakeholders of interest and a resource section to share capacity-building materials. LifeWatch ERIC will also lead the project’s data management process and develop a long-term sustainability plan. LifeWatch ERIC will actively participate in stakeholder mapping thanks to an engagement plan tailored to each stakeholder.
