In the marine domain, LifeWatch ERIC provides data services for a large and broad user community dealing with a variety of data types. Activities include provision of data tools and services for taxonomic, ecological, omics, biogeographic, environmental and biological observation data.
Tools for data archiving, access, quality control, standardisation, harmonisation, analysis and publication are integrated in the Marine Virtual Research Environment (Marine VRE).
The LifeWatch Marine VRE aspires to be the transparent gateway to access, analyse and develop marine data resources.

The Greek National Distributed Centre is funded by the Greek General Secretariat of Research and Technology and is coordinated by the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, in conjunction with 47 associated partner institutions.
