Climate change is already having profound impacts worldwide on ecosystem functioning and living organisms. These impacts are also affecting human well-being and economies, which depend on key natural resources and ecosystem services.
Species are migrating due to climate change, moving from southern to northern latitudes, creating different conditions, while impacting food webs and key processes within ecosystems. In addition, species are changing their niches and certain aspects of their life cycles; above all, climate change and global warming are directly affecting individual metabolism and primary productivity. We must step forward and perceive that we are as far from sustainable development as we perceive that we are from climate balance.
