PRESENTER: Cristina Di Muri, National Research Council, Italy.
Papers that describe published datasets and the web services available within Virtual Research Environments are now the future in scientific publishing.
Open Access has changed the accessibility of research outputs. Storing scientific data electronically has widened the range of investigations and increased the quantity of information available. Publishing data papers and services papers is now the way ahead for collaborative and trans-disciplinary research in biodiversity. Through the Biodiversity Data Journal, a Topical Collection instigated by LifeWatch ERIC and managed by Pensoft Publishers, data can be unlocked – for free – many times in other investigations.
