ERSAC 2025: European Services on Agroecology Conference

European Research Services on Agroecology

Kaunas, Lithuania

The second ERSAC – European Research Services on Agroecology Conference takes place in Kaunas, Lithuania, on October 1 and 2, 2025. Organised in partnership with the Department of Agriculture at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), the event shares the program with the Rural Development international scientific conference.

The AgroServ project (of which VMU is a consortium partner), will also be present at the Rural Development event with a keynote speech by its coordinator Michel Böer, on sustainable agrifood systems. The project will also curate the second day’s scientific sessions on Climate-Smart Agriculture and Food Technologies, and conclude the conference with its General Assembly.

Eurosoil

Seville, Spain – VII EUROSOIL 2025

EUROSOIL is the official meeting of the European Confederation of Soil Science Societies (ECSSS): a great opportunity for knowledge transfer in the Soil Sciences community, and one of Europe’s most important international conferences on soil sciences and sustainable land management.

Every four years the meeting gathers a large audience to share their scientific and technical findings through presentations, workshops, and products or services exhibitions. The objective: raising awareness in society, encouraging communication by facilitating the exchange of ideas and information, and creating business opportunities.

The VII EUROSOIL 2025 edition takes place in parallel with the Iberian Congress of Soil Sciences (CICS), from 8 to 12 September 2025 at the FIBES Seville Congress Palace (Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos), spanning a wide range of topics relevant for society, academia, and industry.

Xavier Rotllan-Puig will represent LifeWatch ERIC with the oral presentation: “Empowering Soil Research through Virtual Research Environments: LifeWatch ERIC Services under the AgroServ and SUS-SOIL Projects”. The talk will demonstrate how LifeWatch ERIC services are advancing soil research, education, and policy across Europe, within the framework of the SUS-SOIL project. It will also present services developed under the AGROSERV project, in collaboration with UTAD (Portugal) and Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (Spain).

AgroServ: the science behind a sustainable food production

Online

Due to biodiversity loss and climate change, agriculture’s challenges are becoming more urgent than ever. The AgroServ project aims to revolutionise agriculture towards resilience and sustainability, bringing together a consortium of research infrastructures and offering a wide range of agroecological services that cover various levels, from molecular to societal. In doing so, AgroServ integrates stakeholders into a transdisciplinary research process. The project’s ultimate goal is to address agriculture’s pressing challenges and pave the way for a sustainable agrifood system.

On April 29, from 13.00 to 14.30 CET, this webinar will discuss the current state of agroecology in Europe and showcase how AgroServ’s services can enable a more sustainable food production system.

The webinar will feature a speech by Korinna Varga on partnership initiatives, Living Labs, and future challenges for European food production. Attendees will also receive updates on the AgroServ consortium’s progress and hear about completed or ongoing research projects from MetroFood. Moreover, information about the second call for proposals for the AgroServ project will be provided.

AgroServ Webinar: European Research Services on Agroecology

AgroServ Webinar

Online, 15 May 2023.

Ahead of its first annual conference, the Horizon Europe project AgroServ (in which LifeWatch ERIC partners) is pleased to invite you to its first webinar on European Research Services on Agroecology that will take place on 15 May 2023, 14:00 CEST via Zoom.

This AgroServ webinar will give researchers the opportunity to connect with other practitioners interested in the field of agroecology and will extend discussions to promote the first European Research Services on Agroecology Conference and that will take place in June 2023 in Prague and online.

Participants will learn about the AgroServ project, its agroecological services accessible via the project’s Catalogue Of Services, and how to apply to the next Call For Proposals that will be launched during AgroServ’s first annual conference taking place in Prague.

The project does not yet have a website, but you can follow the AgroServ LinkedIn page for updates!

AgroServ European Research Services on Agroecology Conference

European Research Services on Agroecology Conference

Prague, Czech Republic / Hybrid, 5–6 June 2023.

The first annual conference on research services on agroecology will be held by AgroServ (a project in which LifeWatch ERIC is partner) from 5–6 June 2023 at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (in-person and online).

The AgroServ project uses a multi-scale approach to respond to diverse research questions; from the level of the molecule and the organism, to the large-scale from farms to entire ecosystems. Since the transition towards a sustainable and resilient agricultural system needs to consider ecological, societal and economic factors, the active involvement of practitioners and scientists from different fields is crucial.

This first edition of the AgroServ Conference will thus be devoted to the research community where it will present the diverse agroecological services accessible via AgroServ and the different facets that shape research in the emerging field of agroecology.

To promote and encourage interdisciplinary approaches to address the agroecological transition, AgroServ’s first call for Transnational Access (TNA call) to access AgroServ services will be launched during this event.

Time will be devoted to discussions and hands-on workshops to brainstorm, meet researchers from different fields and to build ideas for potential proposals.

More information will be shared soon at this link.
